Our Review
We LOVE our Gardyn studio. It was an investment so I went back and forth for months trying to pick the right one and wondering whether this would be a failed experiment due to my extreme lack of a green thumb. But we are SO happy we picked the Gardyn.
I wanted something that would be super easy to maintain with kids and crazy schedules, that would provide us with fresh organic produce with no pesticides, be beautiful in my home, a conversation starter for guests, and smell good. (It really does smell so good)
We have a free roam bunny so I also use it to grow his food. I did the salad starter pack which all grew beautifully and quickly. We are now growing strawberries- (which my kids race to eat first because they're sweeter than the store bought ones), peppers, tomatoes, lavender, thyme, kale, romaine, spinach, butterhead, oregano, mint, thyme, cilantro, and sunflowers.
For upkeep- The Gardyn handles the light and water schedule, but you do have to refill the water tank and trim the roots every once in a while. I bought the dolly, because I like the convenience of being able to roll it next to the sink every few weeks when I need to add water.
Other costs- There is a membership that gives you access to certain features and credits for plants, but it is absolutely not necessary for your gardyn to thrive.
Other tips- Join these 2 Facebook groups! The Gardyners and Gardyn Junkies. I get so much awesome advice, inspiration, and DIY ideas from those groups.
